Can I dispose of Prohibited Materials?
No. Prohibited Materials include unusually heavy material like dirt, rock, sod, concrete, bricks, asphalt or shingles; flammable or ignitable waste like diesel fuel, kerosene, motor oil, flares, rubbing alcohol or cleaning solvents; corrosive waste like chlorine bleach, battery acid or muriatic acid; reactive waste like ammunition, fertilizer, propane tanks, oxygen tanks or barrels; toxic waste like antifreeze, pesticides, paint, insecticides, fluorescent light bulbs, non-household batteries or air conditioners with unremoved freon; biohazard waste like bodily fluids, animal parts, animal feces or sharp needles; prohibited items like tires of any size, water heaters or railroad ties.
Why can’t I dispose of Prohibited Materials?
Because we can’t dispose of it due to governmental regulations and landfill rules.
What happens if I dispose of Prohibited Materials?
Dumpsters loaded with Prohibited Materials may need to be dumped on-site and reloaded at your expense. You will also be responsible for any landfill fees we incur disposing of your Prohibited Materials.
What is the dry run inconvenience fee?
If we’re ever unable to drop off or pick up a dumpster at the agreed upon time, we may charge a $100.00 dry run inconvenience fee. Examples include if we arrive for a pick up and can’t because a neighbor’s car is blocking our access or if we’re unable get past a gate. Another example will be if you request to keep the dumpster longer after we arrive for what we thought would be a normal pick up, but then we depart with an empty load.
Why is it bad to overfill a dumpster?
When a dumpster is filled higher than the top rim, it interferes with the truck’s tarp system. We’re required by law to tarp any filled dumpster that we transport. If any material extends higher than the top rim, the tarp can’t fully seal the dumpster making it possible for waste to fall out during transport. Also, sharp objects (like 2×4’s with exposed nails) that extend above the top rim can tear our tarp material requiring us to replace it.
How much can I put in the dumpster?
We can haul up to 8000 pounds (4 tons) of your waste. If you load more than that, we’ll exceed our vehicle’s GVWR.
How big are the dumpsters?
Our 20 yard dumpster is 17′-6″ long x 8′-0″ wide x 5′-6″ tall. Our 15 yard is the same size, but only 4′-6″ tall. Both fit on a standard driveway.
Do I need to contact my HOA?
Probably depending on your HOA. They may dictate where we can place the dumpster. We do not communicate or coordinate with any HOA. You’ll need to do that.
Do I need to contact my local municipality?
Whether you need a permit depends on what your municipality requires. You probably don’t unless you want to place the dumpster on a public street. We do not obtain permits or check whether they’re required. You’re responsible for all permits.
Do your dumpsters have doors?
All of our dumpsters have doors full-width that you can open for easy walk-in loading.
Do I need to be there when you deliver and pickup the dumpster?
There’s no need for you to be present unless you just want to.
What should be my considerations when loading the dumpster?
Ensure that the weight is distributed as evenly as possible. Carefully stack material to minimize voids. Avoid bulky items like empty boxes. Avoid placing heavy material next to the door – that could make the door difficult to open or cause heavy material to fall onto the operator when opened. If you’re loading the dumpster with a skid steer or tractor, be careful. You’re responsible for damages if your attachment impacts the dumpster’s top rails, if you collide with the dumpster or if there are any other damages caused by you or your equipment.
